Dan Okrzesik Sr. Biography

Dan Okrzesik Sr. (Seduction Spice) has been on this earth since December 15, 1960. It is uncertain if he was born in a hospital or the back seat of a taxi. The family is very hush hush about those private details. Dan grew up on the southside of Chicago with his family that includes FreezeDried's Ted and John Okrzesik.

Dan's musical background is said to be none as he is a drummer. But in his defense, he also plays a mean concertina. Not that he plays the concertina well, but his concertina does have an attitude problem. Danny wrote Flloyd's Oberek and helped arrange Polka Overtures I and II and a bunch more. Before FreezeDried, Dan also "performed" with the Windy City Brass, Chicago's Milwaukee Avenue, Chi-Town Express, The Midwest Sounds and the Music Company.

Rumor has it that Dan once shared a beer with a prominent polka band leader. He also played with the Sounds, Eddie Blazonczyk's Versatones, The Brass Connection, the Dynasticks, Lenny Gomulka's Chicago Push and many others.

Dan enjoys coaching sports. As they say: those who can ... DO; those who can't ... COACH!. For your gift shopping information, Dan's shoe size is a 10 1/2. But they usually get smaller in the winter ... shrinkage.

Dan has been married to wife Teresa for almost 25 years. Dan remarks she's either a saint or ... well you know. Together they have four children: Danny Jr. 23, Matt 20, Nick 18 and Jessica 14. Dan's full-time job is as a Service Supervisor with some company that won't admit they actually pay him.
